About the Northside Children's Community Library

We're open during the school year on Tuesdays and Thursdays 3-6 pm and Saturdays 1-4 pm.  In the summer, the hours are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 1-4 pm. All area children are invited to stop by to read, check out books, use computers or study. In addition to thousands of children's books, we have toys, games, puzzles and art and craft supplies. We often have writers or other professionals come to speak to the children about a variety of topics.  The library is staffed by Andrew Heathwaite, assistant coordinator and volunteers that have all had DCFS background checks.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Northside Children's Community Library (NCCL) is to provide free access to books and technology, innovative programming, and tutoring services to meet the educational and cultural needs of all Springfield area children.
